Chitresh Tatha, the youngest sailor to represent India in the 2014 Asian Games, recently won Silver in the Laser 4.7 class of the Hong Kong Race Week 2018. Chitresh finished first in three races (race 4, 7 & 10) and second in race 3. Forty sailors participated in the races consisting of 10 rounds.
The little sailor hailing from Tamil Nadu, trains for 6 hours each day and sails in the Optimist Dinghy category. He has voyaged all over the world including Ireland, France, Bahrain, Malaysia, Netherlands and Malta at a tender age of just 16, while starting playing the sport when he was just 8 years old.
The national level champion in water sports and yachting, trained at Yachting Association of India under India’s chief national coach Pete Conway and assistant coach Umesh Naiksatam.
