Fighting all odds, Kashmiri girl, Tajamul Islam, at a young age of 8, becomes first ever Sub Junior category Indian player to win a gold medal at International Level Kickboxing Championship held in Italy in 2016.

Hailing from Tarkpora in Kashmir's Bandipora district, Tajamul’s family has meager income but plenty of reasons to encourage the little girl. She started practicing in open fields with her coach Faisal Dar, with makeshift apparatus but her determination brought her to Delhi where she won the national gold in the sub-junior category at the 2015 National Kickboxing Championship. She also won a gold at the at the state-level championship in Jammu in 2015.

The dedicated child has become an inspiration for the young girls of Kashmir, by breaking traditional barriers and following her dreams!
